Guerrilla, is one of the coolest plein air paint box/easel and tripod. Carl Judson of Guerrilla Painter is going to be in the store May 5th. Carl is the inventor of the Guerrilla box and he is a one of a kind, great guy! His invention was perfected as Carl was cowboying in the beautiful Rockies of Colorado. You don’t want to miss this workshop!

“Acrylic Mediums & Gels Demystified”

Nina Deckert, sales representative for Golden Artist Colors, will show many different mediums and gels and how they benefit your artwork. There will be finished examples, and live demonstration of some of the products. Find out how to slow down the drying time, how to add dimension and texture, and how to get the best effects on a variety of surfaces.   Paint from the tube or jar is just the “jumping off point”. Half Way Through The Term

Written by:

It’s hard to believe that we are half way through spring term ‘08. I feel we just started and wow, we have been busy! I want to thank all of my customers and students who have made this a banner year. This back-to-school period had the most kits ordered than any other time. Meaning more students had to make only one stop and make only one purchase to have everything they needed for their class. The month of March saw the start of a new sale and excitement over the new discounted items. I encourage everyone to come in and check it out.I am planning to have workshops in our store on various topics and I am looking for artists in our community who might be willing to share their expertise and lead a workshop.  I, myself, am an oil painter and would love to set up my easel on a Saturday and invite artist of all experience to join me for some conversation. If you are interested in leading a workshop, please drop me a line.Thank you,Doug HowardStore Manager

P.S. Check out the link to our store’s sale flyer!

Hi Out There

Utrecht Sacramento is gearing up for back to school, spring term 2008. We have assembled kits for many instructors and schools. These kits contain the contents of each instructor’s class supply list and special pricing on these supplies cannot be beat. You can check the list at the bottom to see if your class has a kit.

In conjunction with back to school, we are having our Winter Sale! Please check out our web site, Utrecht.com.

Here at the
Sacramento store, we like to hold workshops on Saturdays on a variety of topics. Such as, learn to stretch your own canvas, or handmade books, silk screen, as well as the occasional vender giving a product demonstration. And though my staff and I enjoy giving these workshops, we would like to invite artists from our community to give these demos. If interested, call me!

Greetings from the Sacramento Utrecht!

Written by:

Hello! I am the store manager, Doug Howard. I have been in Sacramento since July 2007. I came here from the Utrecht store in Salt Lake City, Utah. My assistant manager is Jason Ross, a fixture in the Sacramento store, he has been working here since 2002. Every member on our staff is a practicing artist or art student. We are all here to answer questions and to help you to create your art. I am so impressed with Sacramento and it’s  artist community, active enough to support many art supply stores. I believe you will find our store to have the lowest prices (guaranteed) and a supportive staff. Not a lot of fluff, just the tools you need to creat your art.

Here at Utrecht Sacramento, we offer fine art supplies for the professional and student. Visit us at our store just south of Arden Way in the Arden Howe Plaza, we are in the same parking lot as Round Table Pizza.

We try to stay connected to our artist community by proudly posting your gallery openings and would even like to hang your art in our store (see management for details). We generously donate to many local art organizations.

Sacramento Utrecht works with local schools and organizations offering a 10% discount with valid id. Many instructors order kits of their required class art supplies to make life easy for their students.

I look forward to reading your comments and more excited to see you in our store!
