We have all the tools and we will explain exactly what you will need to do it at home, no matter the size of your studio or work space. We will also discuss the different priming tools and materials and show you the difference. Together we will figure out what is going to work best for your studio practices. Join us. We will be discussing and showing you how easy it is to stretch your own canvas. We will also be showing and discussing the differences between priming materials. Please RSVP as space is limited.

June 20th- Oil Painting

Ever wonder what different brushes are used for? Ever wonder how to prime a palette for oil paint? We will be having a few of the well versed oil painters at Utrecht telling you all about their studio practices and how easy it is to start today. Together we will take the fear out of this spectacular medium. We will have paint to play with as well as a variety of oil painting mediums. Please RSVP as space is limited.

July 4^th- On this occasion we will all be out of the store enjoying fireworks and friends, but we will see you next week!!

July 18^th- Utrecht Acrylic Mediums

Are you an Acrylic Painter? Have you ever wondered what the difference between a gloss medium and a gloss gel is? Come on in and we will let you experience first hand exactly how our mediums can work with your personal painting style.  Please RSVP as space is limited.

August 1^st- Block printing

We will be discussing different methods of block printing that will include linoleum, wood, and foam, who knows we might even bring a potato. We can discuss different inks, sand different ways to print by hand in the comfort of your own home, no press needed. Please RSVP as space is limited.

August 15^th-Back to School

Do to the nature of this time we will not be having anything specific planned, but feel free to come in with questions or school lists. Let us make things a bit easier on your search for the right tools, as well as your pocketbook with our Back To School Sale. NO RSVP Necessary today.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary Utrecht Art Supplies is partnering with American Artist Magazine to present the Utrecht Art Supply 60th Anniversary Art Competition. Works of art created in the categories of oil, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media will be accepted, and $12,500 in total prizes will be awarded, including a $3,000 cash award to the Grand Prize winner. Thirty-six total finalists will be chosen, with 24 receiving merit certificates and 12 receiving Utrecht ArtSmart cards with values up to $1,500.

Entries will be judged on quality, creativity, and originality by American Artist editors, Utrecht’s artist-in-residence, and professional artists from the New York City area. The contest begins April 13, deadline for entry is September 1, and winners will be announced October 1.

Due to ordering mix-ups or canceled orders, we sometimes are stuck with a bunch of stuff. Our store is small and we need the room, so I have to sell this stuff off fast. Right now, there are Red Dot stickers all over the store. For example, I have eight 48”x48” Masters’ stretched canvas’ I only need five to be fully stocked so I put a 30% off Red Dot on three of them. I also have 60 5oz tubes of ivory black acrylic, 6 times more then I need. These tubes are already on sale but I put a Red Dot to take off an additional 30%.
